![]() ![]() If you make a change to what you are monitoring, however, you will no longer be able to change it back. The ProblemĪs long as you install iStat Menus under Snow Leopard and upgrade OS X to Lion it appears to work correctly. I run version 2.x of the software because it meets my requirements and it is free, whereas version 3.x costs $16 US at the time of this writing. iStat Menus was one such piece of software, but not in a traditional way. I wasn’t affected by Apple removing Rosetta from Lion (with the exception of the NoMachine client), but there were a couple of pieces of software that required upgrades. I have recently upgraded to Apple’s OS X Lion and like a lot of other people I am updating the “ Nooks and Crannies” of my software portfolio to work with Lion. Actually, if MM just used antialiased text it would help a lot.According to some of the comments below this still works with Mountain Lion and the new Mavericks! I have since purchased a family pack of iStat Menus 4.x so I cannot verify this myself. Still, I mostly have text showing for everything, no graphs (I can always just click on the meter to see the purty graphs). IStat 2 has almost too many options now, but it seems to try to make the info presented clearer. ALso, the MenuMeters Snow Leopard patch was released a few days ago, so technically it beat iStat to the punch. The appearance of the MM bars has changed to more closely resemble those of iStat, fwiw. Clearness doesn't really matter with something this small - you can't get any detail regardless the app, it is just an indication. Originally posted by Sanook:Gah! MM is so ugly. They aren't as pretty as the iStat menus but I guess it just has higher resolution? Each to his own, though. The new MenuMeters also have wider bars now. What's better about the data? And I am guessing you mean MenuMeters has better data, yes? It's just a bit clearer and more granular: View image: That was for a size comparison I did there, a little while back, it doesn't show all the data but you can see even in the network graphs more definition. And I thought I wasn't one of those obvious gays.*Siracusa homage I mean - I know it's supposedly better data, but I just finished customising all my graph colours. kidnapping? Anyone?Edit: Obviously I was wrong about MenuMeters. How can we all, as a group, influence the devs to do this? Kidnapping? Bribery is the obvious choice but I'm poor at the moment. Feel my awesome power, lowly computer-trapped processes. So - much hope of a Snowy Visor? Looking at how it's currently implemented (via SIMBL), probably not without a complete rewrite. But it's so beautiful to call it up to kill an errant task every now and again. Again - it's not like I have to do an awful lot in the terminal. However I returned to the thread to revise my original assertion: My 10.6 transition will never be complete until I can have Visor back in my life. Either way I'm very pleased with iStat menus 2.0. Well I wonder if that's what's holding up MenuMeters? Perhaps they want to do it 64bit all the way down (or is it up?)*. I had a feeling someone would correct me. ![]()
